UNIABUJA ACADEMIC CALENDAR AND UNIABUJA RESUMPTION DATE
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate have approved the resumption of the 2019/2020 Academic session as follows:
The academic year consists of the First and the Second Semesters and One eight-week summer or long vacation session. Each Semester includes 15 weeks of instruction and Two weeks of final examinations. The long vacation session includes a one-eight – one-six week – and two four week periods of instruction
First Semester, 2019
Friday 20th December, 2019 – Student Registration online begins Monday 13th January, 2020 – Classes begin
Thursday – Friday, January 16-17, 2020 – New Student Orientation
Monday 20th January, 2020 – STUDENTS REGISTRATION ENDS
Saturday 22nd February, 2020 – 2019/2020 Convocation Ceremony
Thursday – Friday 5th-6th March, 2020 – Mid-Term Break
Monday 9th to Wednesday 13th March 2020 – Add and Drop
Tuesday 17th March, 2020 – UNDERGRADUATE MATRICULATION DAY/CEREMONY
Friday 10th April, 2020 – Classes end
Monday- Saturday 13th – 25th April, 2020 – Final Examination
Saturday 25th April, 2020 – First Semester Break begins
Tuesday 5th May, 2020 – All Grades Uploaded and Submitted to HODs by 12 noon
Wednesday 6th May, 2020 – Faculty Boards’ Meeting to Approve Grades by 4.00PM
Friday 8th May, 2020 – SBC meeting on Grades by 10.00AM
Monday 11th May, 2020 – Senate Meeting to Approve Grades by 10 am
Tuesday 12th May, 2020 – Electronic Release of GRADES, 12 noon
Second Semester, 2020
Friday 15th May, 2020 – Add and Drop begins
Monday 25th May, 2020 – Classes Begin
Friday 29 th May, 2020 – Add and Drop Ends
Thursday-Friday 23rd – 24th July, 2020 – Mid-Term Break
Monday 27th July, 2020 – Classes resume Friday 14th August, 2020 – Classes end
Monday-Saturday 17th – 29th August, 2020 – Final Examination
Saturday 29th August, 2020 – Second Semester Break Begins
Tuesday 1st September, 2020 – Final Grades Upload and Submission to HOD by 12 noon
Wednesday 2nd Sept, 2020 – Faculty Boards’ Meeting to Approve Grades by 4.00PM
Friday 4th Sept, 2020 – SBC Meeting on Grades by 10 am
Monday 7th Sept, 2020 – Senate meeting to Approve Grades by 10.00AM
