THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL) UMUNZE ANNOUNCES ITS 34TH/12TH JOINT MATRICULATION CEREMONY.

  • Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze, Anambra State will hold its 34th/12th joint matriculation ceremony on July 14, 2023. Matriculating students must appear in the College Academic Outfit obtained from the College Stores with a Bursary receipt of N10,000. Gown collection starts on July 11 and must be returned by July 18. Parents/guardians must attend the Parent/Management forum preceding the matriculation.

đź“… Gown Collection The issuance of gowns starts on Tuesday, 11th July 2023, and should be returned before 18th July 2023.
📢 Parents/Guardians Meeting Parents or guardians of matriculating students must attend a meeting of the Parent/Management forum preceding the matriculation.
🚀 Venue and Time The ceremony will be held at the College Convocation Arena (Main Campus) at 9.30 am.
⚠️ Gown Return Failure to return the gown by 18th July 2023 will result in a surcharge.

The Matriculation Event: When and Where

The college has scheduled the momentous occasion for Friday, 14th July 2023. The event will take place at the College Convocation Arena, located at the Main campus. This notable event will welcome students from various programmes, including Year NCE Students, (Regular, Sandwich, and Continuing Education Programme), PDE, and Year 1 & 2 Direct Entry Degree Students.

Matriculation Gowns: A Symbol of the New Academic Journey

Matriculating students are expected to appear at the ceremony in the College’s Academic Outfit, symbolising their formal acceptance into the academic community. The Matriculation gowns can be collected from the College Stores upon the presentation of a Bursary receipt of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00).

The Payment Procedure for Matriculation Gowns

Students are required to obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) from the Bursary, pay to any bank, and then obtain a Bursary receipt. This receipt must be presented to the Stores Unit to collect the Matriculation gown. The issuance of gowns will begin from Tuesday, 11th July 2023.

Returning the Gowns and Consequences of Default

It’s essential to note that all matriculation gowns must be returned to the College Stores before the close of work on Tuesday 18th July 2023. Failing to do so will result in a surcharge for the defaulters, emphasizing the College’s insistence on adherence to its rules and regulations.

Parent/Management Forum: Engaging the Parents/Guardians in the Journey

In addition to the matriculation ceremony, the College has arranged a meeting of the Parent/Management forum, which precedes the matriculation. The meeting, scheduled for 9.30 am, is mandatory for all parents/guardians of matriculating students. This gathering is aimed at fostering a collaborative relationship between the College and the parents/guardians, keeping them involved in their wards’ academic journey.
